Mike Sawatsky is an established drummer from Northern California. Born in February 1973, Mike was exposed to a variety of music at an early age. At age 5, he was given a record by his older brother, that record was the band out of Canada, called rush! From the minute he heard the song “Tom Sawyer” he knew he was hooked on becoming a drummer. Exposed to other music and bands like Journey, ambrosia, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, etc…. Mike developed an ear for music. At age 10, he started taking lessons in school. As he entered high school however, he was coerced into picking up a trumpet which led into the french horn his sophomore year. But his passion has always been behind the kit beating the skins and holding the rhythm section down ! For the past three years, Mike has played in a variety of cover bands, such as Albino Crowe, Almost Fogerty, and the band Rockhaven. He currently is the drummer for the band ZZ Tush, a tribute to that lil ole band from Texas, ZZ Top !
