My drumming journey began in the urban churches of Oakland, Ca. I grew up watching
amazing drummers play with the passion and power that comes from playing music you
feel strongly about.
I brought that same approach to my playing as I began my musical journey in the
dense, talent-packed San Francisco/Bay Area music scene of the early 90s. Being a
part of a scene that had already produced such drumming greats as Tim Alexander,
(Herb), of Primus, Mike Bordin, (Puffy) of Faith No More, and Chris Kontos of Machine
Head, you can imagine the tense competitiveness to be a great player! It was both
inspiring and intimidating. But honing my skills in such a fierce market would pay
dividends. When my opportunities finally arose to pursue a career in drumming, I was
more than ready, and I've never looked back.
Now with thirty-plus years in the business, drumming has taken me all over the world,
playing in historic venues from CBGB's to the Whiskey A-Gogo! Recording at legendary
studios from Sunset Sound in LA, to Paramount Studios in NY! It's been a hell of a ride,
and with Soul Tone now in my corner, I look forward to my next musical adventures!
