Maurizio Rossi

Chase Allan Band

Maurizio Rossi is amongst the finest, most versatile drummers which enables him to play a great variety of musical styles.
He was born in Rome (Italy) and later moved to England.
Based for 15 years in London, Rossi has been working as a professional musician with known bands and artists, which helped him to achieve a great reputation in the music industry, as a drummer and percussionist.

He studied at the Drummer's Collective in New York City in 1997 with teachers such as Fread Klatz, Kim Plenfiled, Sandy Gennaro, Duduka de Fonseca, Mark Walker and Bobby Sanabria. He also had the pleasure to study with one of the most innovative drummers and drum teacher of our time - Pete Zeldman. He graduated from the University of (ACM) Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, with a BA (Hons) Drum Degree and studied with teachers such as Mike Sturgis and Pete Riley.

His versatile playing has enabled him to have performed and recorded with major Psychedelic Rock British act under the name of “Dream Machine” featuring ex-members of Ozric Tentacles including names such as John Egan, Seaweed, and Joie Hinton. The Album ‘Trilogia’ recorded by Dream Machine in 2005, scored an amazing review as one of the best Rock Music Magazine “Classic Rock” with 7 out of 10, in February 2006. In the same year the band played major music events such as the Sunrise and Eastern Haze Festivals, supporting the band ‘Hawkwind’ on the main stage.

Another great experience in summer 2010, when he met a Brazilian singer-songwriter Eron Falbo and performed as the drummer with his band for live performances around the circuit of London venues, (Bob Johnston Producer of Columbia Records and artists such as Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Simon & Garfunkel).

He has taught drums and rhythm section seminars at the Access to Music, Croydon Summer Drummer Festival and Sussex Academy of Music (SAM), while maintaining 1 to 1 drum kit tuition in many styles such as Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, New Orleans (Second Line Drumming), Rock, Progressive Rock, Jazz, Funk and Fusion.

Maurizio has over 10 years of teaching experience at places such as British Academy of New Music ‘Access to Music’, South End Music School, Charles Darwin School of Performing Arts, Chatsmore High School, Sussex Academy of Music and London Drum Company.

In September 2014, Maurizio toured with award-winning singer/songwriter, Chase Allan of Nashville -Tennessee in the UK and came to perform at the first Cowboys and Heroes Festival in Leitrim, Ireland.
