Maurice Fonville is known in the East and West coast and certainly in the Philadelphia and Jersey area for his feel good, tasteful, hard pocket playing style. He has gained a vast amount of respect, which cannot be denied, as a musician predominantly in the Gospel music industry, but also well-rounded and other genres such as R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, and Neo-soul. Maurice is native of New Jersey. With music running in his family, Maurice began his love of drumming at the age of 2 and started playing in church at the age of 5. Branching out and studying other “Drum Greats”, Maurice was greatly influenced by the various playing styles of Buddy Rich, Calvin Rodgers, Aaron Spears, Dave Weckel, Gerald Heyward, Eric "booty" Greene and a host of others.

Maurice Fonville, commonly known as “Moe”, has toured, recorded, gigged and worked alongside recording artist such as Two–Time Stellar Award winner and Grammy Nominee “Da T.R.U.T.H.”, John Howard & the End-Time Levites, Lonnie Smalls & Higher ground, William C. Oatman Jr. and a host of others in the Philadelphia/Jersey area. He is currently endorsed by Soultone Cymbals, with personal cymbals bearing his silhouette image and signature.
