Masaki Shimokubo

Masaki Shimokubo was born and raised in Japan.
He started playing drums at the age of 16, at the age of 19 he went to Los Angeles and played with various musicians from all over the world.
After returning to Japan, he's played in numerous live concerts of Gospel, Funk,R&B, and Soul music, as well as in recordings, and also held one man live concerts with his own band.
In 2006, he played live on stage for Diva Gray (ex CHIC).
In 2008, he started playing for Gwendolyn C. Reid's Gospel Choir in SHA Chapel, Camp ZAMA (Japan), along with Chizuko Yoshihiro (Keyboard), and Darek Jackson (Bass).
In 2009, he was chosen to play for Dorothy Morrison, the lead singer of the Grammy Award winning Edwin Hawkins Singers, when they toured Japan.
Currently he is the main drummer for the Destiny Christian Center Gospel Choir.
In his passion to further improve his skills, he regularly plays with several recognized musicians.
