Lonnie Daye

Lonnie Daye

A native of Appomattox Virginia, he was introduced to music as a singer in a men's chorus at his local church. He seized the opportunity to play the drum kit when the church had no drummer, only a set of drums. The groove just came natural with no formal training. He later started playing drums for several local bands after an honorable discharge from the Army. He has traveled the eastern sea board playing for various bands ranging from Country, Top 40, Rock, Funk, Gospel, Soul and RnB. Always keeping in touch with his mentor Kelly Gravely (drummer for Norman Conners and long time friend with Victor Wooten) reminds him to stay humble, smile and to always have fun! From studio sessions to having fun with his band mates on stage, there's more to come from him!
