Liam Hawkes

Apathy Avenue

Liam Hawkes is a self-taught drummer from Swansea, South Wales with more than 10 years of experience playing in bands, from garage-bands with friends, to touring the UK and supporting big names in the industry. Liam is inspired by drummers from varying genres due to his varied music taste, however, Liam states Dan Searle [Architects], Daniel Furnari [Polaris] and Brooks Wackerman [Avenged Sevenfold] as his three main influences.

Liam currently plays with the Swansea-based rock band Apathy Avenue, who’s most recent EP titled “One More Day” has been streamed over 7,500 times, with their additional singles bringing this number closer to 15,000. Apathy Avenue has supported many well-known artists such as Crazy Town, Daniel Wakeford [The Undateables TV Series], Dave McPherson [InMe], Alex Band [The Calling] and most recently AshesToAngels. Future gigs will see the band play alongside Toploader, and they’re currently in talks with festivals regarding potential slots available in mid to late 2020.

2020 is set to be a very positive year for Apathy Avenue, with one single in the works, nearing completion, and several more coming throughout the year, with music videos to accompany. The band regularly tours familiar territories, but are aiming to go one step further this year and venture into new, unexplored areas, with plans to reach Northern England and even Scotland in the latter half of the year.

"I play Soultone Cymbals because to me, they represent amazing quality, for a fraction of the price of the bigger brands. Before using Soultone, I used some top-end cymbals from another manufacturer that cost an arm and a leg even second hand, once making the jump to Soultone and trying them out for the first time, I was sold instantly. I will put my hand on my heart and money on the table by saying these cymbals are unbeatable. I LOVE how easily they all blend in, despite all being fairly different sounds on their own. The Soultone team welcomed me instantly as part of the family, and were very easy to communicate with. They got my cymbals to me within a week of ordering, which is incredible considering the process they go through, and continue to support me on social media to this day."

Liam also has a Drumstick endorsement with Collision Drumsticks, who sponsor artists all over the world, for more information on these drumsticks, visit https://collisiondrumsticks.com
