Ken Stix is a self-taught drummer from Essex United Kingdom, at the ripe age of 10 Ken was tapping along to bands such as nirvana, pearl jam and many others, asking his parents for a drum kit at the time they thought it was just a faze and wasn't having any of it, until at the age of 12 Ken invented them to a school concert battle of the bands. He played a nirvana song on drums with kids 4 years older than him, he was the youngest person taking part, needless to say after what his parents witnessed that Christmas ken got his drum kit, that was set up in his bedroom. Through the years he kept practicing buy playing along to rock and heavy metal music, and eventually joined a covers band Silent Running, at the age of 18. Ken spent a good few years playing covers with them adding some incredible energy to their live performances playing in bars and clubs all around the Essex area. Eventually all good things come to an end and it was the end of the covers road for his band once Ken had reached the age of 26. Ken tried to fined other bands and music and even fronted a band for a little while doing covers again. But it wasn't meant to be. Ken then spent a few years out of the music scene and concentrated on family life and was just starting to take photos of his drum kit to try and sell as he thought the music was over for him. But I'm 2016 a local Essex originals band was looking for a drummer for up and coming gigs they had lined up, through a friend of a friend they got in contact and to Ken's delight this was the kind of thing he had been waiting for. Ken joined this boys fire and the rest now is history. Playing all around the underground Essex scene with good fast paced melodic rock music This boys fire are still at it today, and being out new music every year with fresh ideas and open heart lyrics the band are on the up.
