Johnny Sanchez

Musician with eleven years of experience, passionate for Percussive language. Born in the city of Bogotá (Colombia) on October 3rd, 1980. He studied in the “Universidad Inca” in Colomnbia with the Italian teacher Roberto Orru, where he experiemented Jazz notions. He accomplished studies in symphonic percussion in the “Academia Superior de Artes de Bogota” (ASAB) and then continued to depthen studies at the artistic foundation “gentil montaña” with the Cuban teacher Fran Calzadilla who is currently is tutor and guide. He has worked and contirbuted with diverse groups such as Stigma, Ska-ñol, Siloe, Jesda, with whom he recorded the album “Por Todo Lado” (2001). In it, two pieces of his own were included; he helped in the recording process and the mixture of pastor Luis Fernando Lozano’s album “Vivir Adorando”. He also recorded the single “Quiero Vivir” from Luis Carlos Hostios which was releaed in the Palacio de los Deportes in Bogotá along with catholic aritist Martin Valverde (Costa Rica).

He has been part of the Daniel Poli (Argentina) band and has shared the stage with artists such as Luis Enrique Ascoy (Perú), and “Los Enredados”. He was part of the recording of the piece “Busca y Encontraras” as an invited guest from the group Zona “D”, in the album “Sigue al Maestro”. He has had national tours with the group Jesda and “Palo Santo”, with this last one he performed in Los Ángeles (CA) (2008), who presented two concerts in the “sports arena” find outstanding success and where the DVD “palo santo en concierto” was released. He is presently part of the pop singer Luna Eikar, D3 Gospel Band, Andrés Rojas and works as a helping drummer in different groups.
