Joey Schultz was born 1992, in sunny West Hills, California. Coming from a long line of family musicians, he got his start on multiple instruments as a child. Joey's mom was Slash and Axl Rose's dentist during his childhood! Guns N' Roses was always playing around the house. He began taking drumming seriously around the age of 12, and years later graduated with a degree in Music Composition from Columbia College Chicago. He has since remained in Chicago.
As someone who enjoys virtually all styles of music, Joey has his own solo project where anything goes, in addition to drumming in a newly-formed metal band "Hand of Mara". Metal is his go to- hence his love for the 16" custom series Soultone china! From fast double bass, blast-beats, off-beat ghost note grooves to in-the-pocket, relaxed drumming, he enjoys it all.
He is the General Manager of a School of Rock franchise in Illinois, USA, where he spreads his love for music to the next generation. When he is not writing, practicing, or working, he is big into social media. He is best known for his musical comedy routine, which has attracted 30,000 followers on Instagram to date, and over a million views on all platforms.
