Born in Whittier, CA, the 17 year old Jesus Cazarez was never an “ordinary” kid growing up in church. Instead of running around, playing with the other kids his age, he would rather sit under the Hi-Hats of his uncle Ben’s drum-set and begin to mimic his every drumming move. Not knowing the passion for drumming would follow him throughout his career, his interest for music began to grow within him. From a tender age of 3, he began drumming and couldn’t see himself doing anything else. He has developed a feel for music that not many teens his age could understand. His open-mind to many different styles and genres has allowed him to play his own style of music. From hip-hop to blues, gospel to country and jazz, Jesus is always on the look, listening to anything that inspires him. Some of his main influences such as Dave Weckle, Vinnie Colaiuta, William Kennedy, and more modern drummers such as Calvin Rodgers, Mike Clemens, Teddy Campbell, and Chris Coleman just to name a few; they have introduced him to many different styles of drumming. He has had the privilege to play at major events and has been able to expose his talent to many. His love for music and his dreams of becoming a professional musician has been fueled by today’s music in hopes of one day achieving his dreams and goals.
