Jerry Beller

I started playing Drums at the ripe old age of 3 which were on the pots and pans in my parents kitchen, which most the greats started that way. I was 4 my Dad gave me a pressed metal drum set with paper heads . After seeing Keith Moon on the show “Ready Steady Go” needless to say I thrashed my poor drum kit, and I was without a kit for almost 2 years. one Christmas my dad Alex Beller and his personal Friend Nelson Riddle (yes the same one ) came through with my first real student model Drum Kit. My uncle Ben Pollack , who created the first big band in the 1920’s (the King of Swing) which had Benny Goodman, Jack Teagarden, Harry James and Glen Miller in his band before creating their own big bands. passed away in 1971 , it was in his will that I inherited his 1940’s Slingerland Radio King Drum Set (which i Proudly still own).
