Jeremy Mykietyn

Jeremy Mykietyn grew up in a musical family and was influenced early on by his father, who performed and recorded music throughout his childhood. He first discovered his interest in drumming as a youngster at his first concert, The Doobie Brothers (his mother’s cousin was the late, great Doobie drummer Keith Knudsen). Shortly thereafter, he focused his attention on the rhythm and style of his earliest drum influences: Peter Criss, Stewart Copeland and Neil Peart.

Beginning in seventh grade and continuing through high school, he studied drums privately and began playing in various bands, mostly in the hard rock, heavy metal and hardcore genres. He also worked on his chops in the high school marching, concert and stage bands in his hometown of Garfield, New Jersey.

After earning his college degree, he co-founded the popular New Jersey cover band The Benjamins. With that band he played thousands of shows and performed at many major venues, including Madison Square Garden and the Prudential Center. He appeared on national and international media outlets, including VH1 and FOX News Channel. The Benjamins recorded and released two original albums, and shared the stage with such acts as Cheap Trick, Goo Goo Dolls, and Third Eye Blind.

Presently, Jeremy continues to expand his drumming vocabulary, and keeps busy by recording various projects, performing live in bands, and educating several students. He currently performs 200 shows a year with the Sensational Soul Cruisers as well as Acoustic Fuego.
