Israel Gonzalez is an independent drummer from Orange County. Born in Anaheim, CA in 1991 and raised in Northern California, Israel started playing drums at 11 years old. The beginning for him is quite an amusing story, as a drummer friend of his broke an arm just weeks before his middle schools music performance. Israel volunteered to take his place, which would be the first time he ever sat behind a kit, and the rest is history. His father bought him his first kit shortly after that, and Israel played it everyday in his room until he moved back to Southern California at age 13. Immediately, he started playing drums for local artists and churches, and does so to this day.
His musical styles range from his staple power pocket sound with post-core and punk influences, to funk and gospel vibes. He currently plays at The Rock church in Anaheim, Free Chapel in Irvine, Influence Church in Anaheim Hills, and a few others.
He enjoys listening to and draws inspiration from drummers like Jimmy, The Rev, Sullivan, Mike Portnoy, Riley Breckinridge, Chris Coleman, and Eric Moore.
Israel also is in love with coffee, and works as a barista, and roast assistant at Portola Coffee Lab in Costa Mesa
