Francisco Lujan

Pavlov's Bell

Francisco Lujan is a drummer born in Maracaibo, Venezuela who has made a home for himself in the Miami music scene as a music instructor, session musician, and live performer. With great influence from his father Francisco Lujan Sr., who was the percussionist for Venezuela’s most influential ensemble Guaco, Francisco was heavily influenced at a young age to become a professional musician. Making a name for himself was no surprise after the apprenticeship under Rey Monroig. He continued to further his career as he attended Florida International University and earned his bachelor’s degree quickly finding himself a teaching position at Miami Fine Arts Academy becoming their head percussion instructor and band director. Francisco is currently endorsing renown drums/percussion brands Cympad and Soultone Cymbals and is the founding drummer of Miami’s experimental prog outfit Pavlov’s Bell. With this group has toured the country playing music festivals such as Echo Fest, BumbleFest, and Gainesville’s The Fest. His open style progressive drumming techniques are a driving force in the band’s newest release Mala Nota and is currently working on innovative experimental sounds for the band’s future endeavors.
