Playing drums since he was 9-years-old, Eric Selby’s influences are well-versed in blues, reggae, rock,fusion, jazz and everything in between. From his continuous performances and more than 20 yearsof studio session work, including drumming on and co-producing Stackhouse Recording Artist Memphis Gold’s 2011 release, “Pickin’ In High Cotton,” to his current touring with The BillyThompson Band, Eric adds his own style to best support and intensify the music’s dynamics.Throughout his career, Eric has had the pleasure of playing with many talented artists, including:Billy Thompson (Little Milton, Albert King, Art Neville), Charlie Sayles (Pete Seeger, Bill Monroe), Daryl Davis (Chuck Berry, Boogie-Woogie Legend), Mike Westcott (DC Blues Society Award Winner), Mark Wenner (The Nighthawks), Heather Hardy, Linwood Taylor, Ricky Wilkins (Catfish Hodge, RazzyBailey), Rick Franklin, The Occasional Banister, Shrimp City Slim, Eleanor Ellis, Jay Summerour (Starland Vocal Band, Grin, Little Bit A Blues), Memphis Gold, Ursula Ricks, Robert Lighthouse,Moonshine Society, Ashleigh Chevalier, James Mabry, Warner Williams (Piedmont blues legend,2011 NEA National Heritage Fellowship Winner) and Bad Influence.Along with playing with these prestigious musicians, Eric has shared the stage with many notableartists, such as Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Waters’ son and W.C. King Blues Club-New York, Rosa’s Lounge-Chicago, IL, The Bayou, The 9:30 Club, Blues Alley,Greenwood Blues Cruise, Beale Street Blues Festival, Colonial Beach Blues Festival, Washington Folk Festival, Carolina Downhome Blues Festival, Western Maryland Blues Festival, New York State BluesFestival, Michelob Dayton Blues Festival, The Music Center at Strathmore and The Kennedy Center.Eric is on recordings with many talented artists, including Memphis Gold, Billy Thompson, JaySummerour, Robert Lighthouse, Linwood Taylor, Mike Ault (Paul Reed Smith Band, Mary AnnRedmond Band), The Occasional Banister, Eleanor Ellis (Flora Molton, Archie Edwards), The BobbyLewis Blues Band, Danny Blue, Paulo Trinadade, John Fancy and Chris Biondo (Eva Cassidy, Chuck Brown).In November 2012, Eric was honored to be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame. Soultone Cymbals endorser Eric Selby has been very busy in the studio for the last six months working in many different genres and with many different artists including The Billy Thompson Band, Abigail Palmer Group, Mary Shaver Band, Les Hatley, The Bobby Thompson Project and Domenic Cicala.
