Emmanuel Smith still lives in his hometown of Danville, Virginia. He has been playing the drums since about the age of 12; he has learned every aspect of the drums on his own since day one. His grew up in the church under the pastoral leadership of the Rev. Cecil Bridgeforth. Emmanuel has a heart for traditional and contemporary gospel music, along with jazz, which he is currently studying at George Washington High School under his current band director. Although his primary focus now is his work with New Divine Purpose, he also plays with the George Washington High School Jazz Band, A New Beginning, Shiloh Baptist Church; he occasionally plays with the Danville Community College Choir and many other churches throughout his community. He will be featured on New Divine Purpose’s album, coming out soon. Using the sound he has found in Soultone Cymbals, Emmanuel looks forward to developing his musical gifts and to expanding his ministry beyond the
city limits of Danville.
