Edward C. Williams Jr., affectionately known as “Boop”, is a singer/musician who was born on September 21, 1989 in Camden, New Jersey. Edward started his musical career at a young age in his childhood church, St. James Apostolic Temple.The start of his music career was guided under the tutelage of Esther and Rasheem Shambry. Throughout his grade school and high school years, Edward participated in all of the band performances, plays and recitals and also served as a trombonist. On July 27, 2015, Edward suffered a medical setback, having two strokes in his eyes that left him 90% percent blind. Since then with much faith and prayer, Edward miraculously regained some of his sight and still continues on as “The Blind Drummer”. Edward has played for the likes of artist such as The UCC Royal Brass Band, Rasheem Shambry & AWAM, Jay P Heath and Predestined, City Harvest Music Ministry & others. He currently serves as the Praise & Worship leader/Director of Music for The New Community Baptist Church in (Collingswood, NJ) and Assistant Musical Director at his home church, Word of Faith Christian Fellowship Inc in (Camden, NJ). Edward favorite drummers are Rasheem Shambry, Art Blakey, Rashid Williams & Jerome Flood. If he would have a motto it would be “The purpose of a disability is to show strength and ability”.
