Donny Winston

Donny Winston Sr. was born in Everett, WA in 1972 to John (deceased) and Alice Winston. Donny and his family were heavily involved in their local church where at the age of 10 he became the drummer for their worship band, which is where his career began. In 1985 the family relocated to the great city of San Diego, CA where he now resides. He is the proud father of five children, Tiffanni age 16, Donny Jr. age 14, Annice (step-daughter) age 13, Daniel age 11, and Myles age 1.

Donny has been blessed by God to be able to play for many of today’s top gospel artists, Tonex, Dorinda Clark Cole, Byron Cage, Beverly Crawford, and Darryl Coley (just to name a few). Donny also has played for many R&B artists, including Rhian Benson and the great Ike Turner. He has been able to record on several albums since the year 1997 and in 2003 was blessed to play and co-produce his older brother, Deryl Winston Sr.’s first live CD project. His theatrical accomplishments include “A Christmas Carol-The Gospel According to Dickens’s”, “Standing in the Gap” and “Handel’s Messiah”

Because of his many achievements, his colleagues and friends have dubbed him “Da Bishop”.

Donny currently plays with the highly talented Josh Garlow and The Cause Band of Skyline Church, which was one of the featured bands for “The Call ‘08” at Qualcomm Stadium.
