Daron 'Synco' Roberts

Daron ‘Synco’ Roberts, 17 years of age, was born and raised in the beautiful Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. This music prodigy found his rhythm for drums as a toddler and began performing by the tender age of 2. By 5, he began regularly playing the drum kit for his local church, and with a prominent youth steel pan band called the Golden Hands Steel Orchestra. As a teenager he was the youngest in his country to earn the Trinity Guildhall ATCL Diploma certificate in Drum Kit Recital and he is one of the youngest Trinidad drummers called to play for live concert bands for local and visiting international gospel artistes, such as local artist Koen Duncan and U.S. recording artist Dr. Helen Baylor. In 2011, he was awarded the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Culture youth award for music for his accomplishments on the island and abroad.

Daron has participated in several live and studio recordings on drum kit as a member of groups such as the Golden Hands Steel Orchestra, Instruments of Worship, I-Resolve, Fronthouse, as well as Mighty Psalmists. He was featured on the San Fernando Open Bible church’s Change album (2011) and has performed alongside musicians such as Raff Robertson, Frankie McIntosh, Nyol Manswell, and George Russell Jr, to name a few. Daron was influenced by drummers such as Kion Brooks, George ‘Spanky’ McCurdy, Calvin Rodgers and Dave Weckl. Aside from drum kit, Daron is an accomplished African drummer, Panist and Percussionist. Daron believes his musical talent is a God-given gift, and will pursue music as a career when he starts university in 2013. He is motivated by Proverbs 16:3 to “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” Daron ‘Synco’ Roberts is honored to be a Soultone Artist and thanks God and his family for the blessing to share the joy of music with the rest of the world.
