Christopher Romano is a percussionist from Connecticut. He plays drums in the New Rochelle, NY based instrumental progressive rock band, Valence. They have shared the stage with many bands including Dream Theater, Clutch, The Sword, Angel Vivaldi, Consider the Source, Andrew WK, Deafheaven, 3, and Moon Tooth. They have toured all over the North East and were chosen to play the music festival North By North East in Toronto in 2015. Valence were also awarded the best Metal/Hardcore song for the 14th annual competition for The Independent Music Awards based on artist and fan voting. They will be recording their third album in 2017.
He grew up playing drums in the Norwalk, CT public school system and also took jazz lessons from the great John Cutrone. Chris has also been heavily attached to the marching arts for years. He marched snare drum in the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corps and was Percussion Caption Head for The Brien McMahon H.S. Marching Senators for seven seasons. Chris holds a B.A. in music performance with emphasis in Jazz drums from Western CT State University.
He currently teaches drum set and snare drum lessons and is always interested in taking on new students.
