Chris Rogers

Friendly neighborhood drummer boy, Christopher Rogers. A drummer inspired by his own family of musicians In Los Angeles California, Tony Shumate Jr. cousin (Drums) and Father Pastor Chuck Rogers (Organ & Bass) Vicky Mother singer, Grandmother Pianist Singer pushed musicality, pocket, work stage etiquette, professionalism, separating from performance and to think production, which to them was better than showing off but to play with passion have humbled spirit but attack with confidence.

Shielded from the streets, staying in school and the church playing at the age 2 and at 4 years old, I was gifted a black pearl export 10 piece which I still have today which I named it the classic. I was using that playing along with everything that came on the radio, everything. At 6 I was playing at a church of 400 congregations. By 10 had opened up for huge stars by 15 was traveling on the road playing with various super star gospel singers from Hawkins family, Clarks and Shirley Caesar opening up for John P Kee, and many more. Both parents were strict, the only time I could touch an instrument was only until home work was done, and many songs have been the help to keep focus on many homework assignments while tapping on the table with a pencil and bee bopping, the craving to play grew and grew stronger. When people ask if I can play a song or genre I simply reply I can play anything with a beat.

I started listening early at a young age, to musicians such as Dennis Chambers, Buddy Rich, Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown), Marvin Mcquitty (Gospel), Phil Rudd (ACDC), Charlie Watts (Rolling Stones), Calvin Rodgers (Gospel), Chris Coleman, The Talented Rick Allen (Def Leppard), Vinnie Colaaiuta, and currently Tony Royster Jr. A Lot of great musicians have stained the memory of creativity, and from Herbie Handcock, Quincy Jones, John Williams, Robert Glasper, Timothy Mosely (Timbaland), Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman. All have contributed a fusion of what I am today. I'm Chris Rogers and I've created my own Style of playing , maybe I will take the new name of CStyle ha!. Captivating audiences with natural effect from durm adding pieces to the drum set that matches records to bring more familiarity to the song other than just the beat. That's where Soultone comes in, quality Turkish cymbals that caters to all of the genres I play, the versatility and attack, whether its setting the ambience or partying rocking hard in front of a large crowd, my soultone cymbal go hand and hand I'm celebrating my 7th year with soultone, which I think they are my soulmate.
