Charles Page
Charles J. Page was born in Washington, DC. He began playing the drums at the age of four. At the age of ten, he became the drummer at his home church. His talent was recognized in many venues within the metropolitan area, which allowed him the opportunity to perfect his musical gift. In 1988, he was awarded a scholarship to the Levine School of Music in Washington, DC under the direction of Mark Rendon. The following year, he was awarded a full music scholarship to Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL.
Charles is a versatile musician that plays a variety of music including: Gospel, Jazz, Country, Swing, Rock, Funk, R&B, Bluegrass, and Latin. In 2007, he established the jazz band, Groove Masters. Groove is well known throughout the Carolina’s and abroad. In 2008, Groove Masters released their first album, “Elements of Groove”.
Charles Page musical skills can be heard on recordings with The Country Boys of Deatsville Alabama, Noble Guest & Highly Favored, University Park Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, and Groove Masters Band. He has performed with the late Orlando Draper, Kim Burrell, Regina Belle, Ted & Sheri, Daryl Colely, Alabama Mass Choir, Metro Mass Choir, Harvey Watkins (Jazz Saxophonist) Ronald Handy, Dee Lucas and Johnny Holloway. He has also toured with Lee Fields, the late great Ronnie Lovejoy, Gerald T. Smith and Youth-N-Praise to name a few. Charles’s hard working talents and skills have taken him across the US and Europe.
Currently, he shares his musical talents with Groove Masters Band, Park Ministries, Ronald Handy, Upscale and Gerald Smith and Youth-N-Praise.
