Billie Bright III is from Columbia, SC where he has been playing drums since he was seven years old. Billie’s music career kicked off early when he began to play drums for his church and marched for Keenan High School Raider Rubber Band while still attending middle school. Billie has played for various bands in and outside of church. He has been the drummer for Mac’s on Main, Simply B Music, Juice The Comedian, David Maxwell & McNally Smith College Of Music’s Bobby Stratton’s Fusion Ensemble. As well as Step In Clouds & Funk Uh Fried bands. In 2015, Billie competed in the Guitar Center’s 27th Annual Drum Off where he made it to the semifinals in Chicago, IL. In 2018, Billie played drums for a youth conference in St Paul, MN that featured Christian rapper KB. During the 2021-22 basketball season, Billie also was the drummer for the NBA G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce. With these opportunities, Billie has been able to play to different genre’s such as gospel, R&B, funk, alternative rock, Jazz Fusion and Hip Hop. This has allowed Billie to learn how to play to different odd time signatures, read music charts, establish the groove from different rhythms within the song, and discover the different formats, structures and melodic placement that give these genres their sound. Billie currently plays for his church in Sioux Falls, SD and attends Berklee College of Music Online where he is pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Music Studies.
