Arkadiy (Arco) Kornev was born 02/05/1992 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. His father was bass guitar player, so almost from the day of his birth Arco was surrounded by Music. His “lullabies” often were records with bass lines played by Mark King, Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten and others.

Only at the age of 12 Arco discovered in himself a desire to play the drums. His early influences were Bill Bruford from King Crimson and Neil Peart from Rush. Then he discovered Dave Weckl, whose playing skills and musicality inspired Arco so much. Playing drums became his passion. It was a time of long nights, up to 8 hours a day everyday practicing, time of learning, listening and copying drummers like Vinnie Colaiuta, Dennis Chambers, Tony Royster Jr., Marco Minnemann and others.

At age 13, Arco enrolled in music school, which in turn was finished fairly quickly, within three years.

At that time, Arco had participated in various contests, concerts etc.

In 2008 Arco passed the entrance exams to a prestigious jazz faculty of Mussorgsky Music College in St. Petersburg.

At 17, Arco discovered the Gospel Chops drummers. Eric Moore, Ronald Bruner Jr., Tony Royster Jr., Thomas Pridgen, Spanky McCurdy, Aaron Spears, Chris Coleman, and Nick Smith quickly became his favorite drummers. Especially Chris Coleman, and Nick Smith!!! These guys still have a strong influence on Arco.

Arco is 19 now, he is independent musician, but sometimes works as a session drummer. He is going to make his own clinics and workshops soon. He plans to move to Los Angeles in near future.
