I have been a drummer for 39 years. My music career started at age 7. I studied music all through grade school, high school and two years at Morton junior college. In the last twenty years, I have been a professional drummer in Chicago, Illinois. I have played with several bands over the years including cover bands and an original band named Jamilya. Jamilya had one album on Midwest records. Over the years, I’ve shared the stage with the following bands: Firehouse, Kansas, Jefferson Starship, 38 Special, Lonnie Brooks, Pat Traverse, Blackfoot, Dennis Deyoung, Ides of March and Billy Squire, as his drummer on a live radio show in Chicago. I also played drums in a band called The Dahl Fins featuring Chicago radio DJ Steve Dahl for 2 years. I played the World Music Theater with The Dahl Fins and Kevin Matthews’s Band. Seeing over 20,000 people from my drum set was unbelievable. I will never forget that night. Most recently, I’ve been doing the jobbing thing with great success playing many styles of music. The bands that I have played for in Chicago are Rock of Ages, Infinity, Arra, Texas Flood, R-Gang, Person to Person, Rock Band Karaoke, New Image Band and Ty Stones Tribute to James Brown and Motown Show band and many others. I have studio experience, some touring, corporate gigs and of course live performance. At the end of the day, I thank God for giving me this talent to perform.
