My Name is Andy White. I have a passion to express myself creatively and the drums has been an outlet for that creative expression since I was 6 years old when I got my first kit. I come from a family of very few musicians and absolutely no drummers so I walked a slow self taught road to get to where I am now. I give all the credit to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who (I am fully persuaded!) gave me every opportunity I have ever had to excel.

I started playing in a band with a group of college guys when I was 11. I continued to learn and grow as a musician with the same band until i was 13 when I had to quick due to school. Following that I began to get heavily involved with playing drums for my church. I was raised in a very diverse church so I was fashioned as a gospel / contemporary / old school church drummer. I taught my self how to follow charts when the songs began to be too complex to memorize and I kept growing from there.

I was always very influenced by music, but my musical tastes changed dramatically after high school. I began to have a passion for the groove and simplistically expressing myself in what everyone calls “the pocket”. I am very influenced by hip hop, jazz, blues, creative alternative, techno and soft rock. These styles helped shape me as a young drummer.

After I graduated high school I attended Christ for the Nations Institute where I began taking weekly lessons with the all around versatile and international drummer Keith Banks. Who pushed me to expand my well-roundedness in playing by introducing me to styles such as Latin, Afro Cuban, Bossa Nova, Jazz, Hip Hop and more. Following my first semester I was promoted to full time drummer for the praise band where I recorded my first live album for Brian Ming. Upon graduating CFNI I continued to travel with both Brian Ming and Integrity signed worship artist Klaus Kuehn.

I have also instrumentally supported some fresh faces to the music industry Matthew Hart, Laura Allen, Mark Devin and more.
