Alvaro Acuña

Alvaro Acuña

Alvaro was in born in 1985 in a small town in San Jose, Costa Rica called Guadalupe. He grew up surrounded by a family of musicians, and because of that Alvaro rapidly started to love music. Following both his parents and grandfather’s steps.
His most important role model was his grandfather Jose Rafael Murillo, member and cofounder of the Otto Vargas Orchestra and Jazz Band.
At the age of 5, Alvaro started his first music lessons at a small church called Centro Cristiano in Guadalupe. His professor at that time, described him as an enthusiastic, full of energy and talented kid. Later he began his musical studies at Universidad de Costa Rica and some other music institutes for around 10 years.
Nowadays, Alvaro plays at Centro Evangelistico -in the town of Zapote in San Jose-, where he has been playing for almost 7 years now. He has had the great experience of playing with great gospel music artists such as: Julissa and Danilo Montero. He also plays every year at the international gospel and worship conference at Centro, known as one of the most important congresses for men and women in Costa Rica and Latin America.
But that’s not all, Alvaro mixes his love for music with a successful professional career as an industrial engineer, sports and family.
Finally, his biggest goal is to serve Jesus through his music, becoming one of the best musicians and gospel leaders in his country and hopefully the world.
