Aaron van Veen
Aaron van Veen was born on March 17th 1998 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He lived the first six years of his life there before he moved to Canada for three years only to return to Dubai in 2007. He first found his love for music when his Father first played Iron Maiden’s ‘Number Of The Beast’ album. From that moment on, he spent his life experimenting with different genres of music and idolizing bands like Green Day, Billy Talent, Metallica and Iron Maiden. He has wanted to play drums from the time he was a young boy but it was only in 2010 when Aaron first started taking lessons. Fabio Olczewski, another Soultone Artist, is currently teaching Aaron how to improve his skills as a drummer as well as a musician. Aaron also takes Music as one of his subjects at school to broaden his understanding of all genres and musical theory. He started out by playing songs by AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. It was only in early 2012 when he started making YouTube covers with a friend of his in the band ‘The Asylum For The Sane’. Some of the more recent videos now have accumulated over 1,000 views. Around the same time Aaron has started to become influenced by heavier bands such as Parkway Drive, August Burns Red, Born Of Osiris and As I Lay Dying, however, Iron Maiden stills remains his favorite band. He also plays at various school music events and concerts held by his music institute. Aaron is now 15 years old and his love for music is persistently growing. He is still making YouTube covers with his band and the fan base is continuously growing by the day. He really is grateful for the music he was brought up with and the incredible new music his father introduces him to on a day-to-day basis. Aaron credits his love for music to his Dad’s influence. Aaron plans to continue playing Drums and improve his abilities and is keen to start learning melodic instruments such as the piano or guitar.
