Aaron Gonzales is a 24 year old musician/drummer who grew up in Odessa, Texas. He grew up in a musically rich family & found his musical interests at an early age. Aaron decided to pick up the drums at age 8. He played his first professional gig at age 13 & continued to study drums throughout Junior High & High School. Aaron began taking lessons from John Carroll at Permian High School in 2003. He showed his talents on concert percussion such as snare drum, timpani, & marimba. Aaron also showed his interests in latin & african percussion. However, his main interest was on drum set. He was a 2-time All-State musician his Junior & Senior year. In 2005, he was chosen 1st Chair in the state of Texas at the TMEA All-State Music Convention in San Antonio, Texas where he performed in front of thousands including Texas Governor Rick Perry.
All the while, he continued to hone his craft on drum set, playing in various groups from around the area including various artists from the West Texas Jazz Society. In 2007, Aaron & his brother Adrian Gonzales formed a group called BROWN SNEAKERS. The group blended different elements of Rock, Funk, Soul, R&B, Jazz & Blues. In 2008, BROWN SNEAKERS was featured in a musical segment on FOX called "On The Road" which aired throughout Texas. They've played numerous venues throughout the state of Texas & won the 2009 UTPB Battle of the Bands in Odessa TX. Aaron's influences include Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, Steve Jordan, Elvin Jones, Bernard Purdie, Chris "Daddy" Dave, Al Jackson, Joel Rosenblatt, & Mitch Mitchell. He is also influenced by his parents Leon & Linda Gonzales, & his brother Adrian Gonzales. He is a frequent at many churches in the Midland/Odessa area including Grace Fellowship.
As of late, Aaron & Brown Sneakers are hitting the studio in June 2011.
Brown Sneakers consists of Adrian Gonzales on guitar/vocals, & Mark Lowe on Bass.
Adrian is currently endorsed by RAM Guitars.
