Who was Phil Taylor you may ask. He was the legend and powerhouse behind 'Ace of Spades' and the band Motörhead. If you knew that already then I can recommend this book to you straight away. If you didn't know then give it read as it will take you on a crazy journey on what it meant to be a heavy rock or metal drummer back in the 1970s and early 1980s. Wild times and crazy stories aside this book attempts to focus on Phil as a performer and ground breaking genius. You may question that so read the book and see what you think.
This book is a musical study and perhaps adventure in to a drummers life and the incredible legacy he left behind. Inside you will find a review by drummer and author Nigel Sanders on each album track along with transcriptions of key works, pictures and opinions given on Phil's work as a loud and fast drummer. In my humble opinion I would propose he was as significant in his legacy as Kieth Moon was and perhaps just as crazy. If you are a drummer into Rock and Metal then this is must have. So sit back, listen to music and read the book.
